Job Summary
Ojibwe Language and Culture Teacher for early childhood through 3rd grade at Waubun-Ogema-White Earth School District #435. Develops and delivers culturally responsive instruction incorporating Ojibwe language, traditions, stories, values, and cultural teachings; uses storytelling, music, art, and land-based learning; collaborates with families, elders, and community partners; participates in curriculum development aligned with Indigenous education standards; provides leadership and support to paraprofessionals; engages in ongoing professional development in Ojibwe revitalization and culturally responsive teaching; supports student growth, cultural identity, and academic success. Key duties include creating engaging, age-appropriate lessons; assessing language acquisition and cultural understanding; maintaining an inclusive, respectful classroom; coordinating with district staff to support cultural enrichment initiatives; involvement in IEP meetings and school events; strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to integrate technology into instruction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- Minnesota teaching license in the instructional area
- Experience teaching Ojibwe language and culture or culturally responsive instruction (preferred)
