Job Summary
Oil Tanker Operator responsible for overseeing TC vessel operations per global standards and regulations. Duties include voyage planning, bunker procurement and optimization, stowage planning, cargo handling coordination, agency appointments, voyage orders, and supervising vessel performance across all voyages. Additional duties cover weather routing, hold/tank cleaning optimization, documentation management (TLS, LOIs, certificates), data entry into company software, and collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure smooth operations and pre-/post-fixture activities. Must ensure regulatory compliance, prepare operational reports and performance analyses, and adhere to Trafigura's policies. Strong emphasis on analytical, data-driven decision-making and cross-functional communication in a multinational environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience managing vessels' operations
- Strong understanding of Charter party terms and conditions (Time Charter, Voyage Charter)
- Strong understanding of BIMCO standard forms and clauses
- Knowledge of laytime and demurrage calculations
- P&L understanding and variance analysis
- Demonstrated experience with cargo operations – Preparation for Loading, discharge
- Proven experience with bunker operations - Planning, quality specifications, sampling procedures
- Knowledge of shipping regulatory frameworks
- Solid understanding of shipping management software (IMOS, Danaos, etc.)
- English proficiency (written and verbal)
