Job Summary
Oil Risk and Market Analyst responsible for risk analysis of trading PnL and exposure across international and domestic oil trading strategies. Drives the production and management of daily reports covering delta changes, deal economics, price exposure, hedge requirements, and ad hoc management reporting to ensure leadership has timely, accurate information for informed trading decisions. Core duties include managing data integrity for PnL and exposure, applying knowledge of physical deal economics (Freight, Demurrage, Finance, hedging, pricing) to set up inception PnL, tracking daily PnL and exposure changes, producing forward curves to mark-to-market positions, and ensuring correct hedge and pricing actions. Reconciliation of estimates used in PnL to final invoice values to align with statutory accounts, and driving trade ledgers. Role emphasizes process and system upgrades to improve accuracy and timeliness of reporting, and offers exposure to various facets of physical metals/bulk trading. The position encourages broad function experience across business units and requires strong English and Spanish communication in a multinational team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in risk analysis of market analysis roles
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, industrial engineering, actuarial science, accounting, finance, or other related fields
- Knowledge of physical, derivatives, and underlying transactional instruments
- Experience in position, exposure and commercial PnL reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Report writing skills
- Good level of English, intermediate or equivalent to B2
- Good level of Spanish, intermediate or equivalent to B2
- Ability to use multiple systems at once
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-paced dynamic environment
