Job Summary
This position provides project management and field services for petroleum contaminated site cleanup, serving as a field team leader during follow-up cleanup and extended remediation activities. Responsibilities include overseeing field investigations and remedial actions, administering statewide contracts, reviewing technical reports, preparing and approving work plans, supervising contractors, monitoring cases, developing site safety and implementation plans, collecting environmental samples, evaluating treatment systems for regulatory compliance, utilizing field-screening instruments for site characterization, and coordinating drilling and remediation service contracts with procurement and funding activities; role may require use of personal protective equipment including respirators during inspection and sampling activities. The role collaborates with department staff and the Underground Storage Tank Unit to support statewide environmental response objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geology, or other physical science and three years’ experience in investigation, monitoring, or inspection work in an environmental science field including at least one year dealing with oil and hazardous materials technologies.
