Job Summary

Design and oversee installation of electrical systems for oil and gas facilities, including rigs, platforms, refineries, and pipelines. Develop engineering specifications and drawings compliant with NEC, API, and NEMA standards. Conduct load calculations, power distribution studies, and short-circuit analysis to optimize system performance. Specify components based on project requirements and budget constraints while collaborating with contractors on procurement and commissioning. Perform risk assessments, troubleshoot electrical failures, and execute preventive maintenance to ensure operational continuity. Provide technical guidance to operations teams and participate in project audits to meet HSE and quality standards. Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and regulatory changes. Willingness to travel to offshore and remote sites is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on the oil and gas industry
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical design principles, power systems, equipment sizing, and protection schemes
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes relevant to oil and gas electrical engineering (e.g., API, ANSI, IEEE)
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering software tools for design, analysis, and simulation (e.g., ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD)
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and allocate resources effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking for troubleshooting complex electrical issues
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel to project sites, including offshore platforms and remote locations, as required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to comply with drug and alcohol testing requirements, as per industry standards
