Job Summary
Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution power lines while assisting the Journeyman Lineman and Foreman during training. Perform line switching, route power lines over or around existing structures, and troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment. Carry poles, dig holes, and drive a bucket truck to job sites, maintaining stock. Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized lines as needed. Submit all Apprentice Program documentation timely. Operate in field conditions with physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in inclement weather. This role supports the Lineman team and sets safe practice examples for apprentices.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 2 years of lineman experience.
- Valid Class A CDL
- Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships
- Precise hand-eye coordination
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors
Desired Qualifications
- 3 or more years of lineman experience
- OSHA 10 Certification
