Job Summary
Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution electrical lines, including connecting, disconnecting, and removing devices like transformers and switches. Route power lines over or around existing structures, inspect damaged lines, and troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment. Assist in carrying poles, digging holes, and driving bucket trucks to job sites while performing line switching as directed. Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized distribution lines as needed. Support the Line team and assist in on-the-job training of apprentices and other crew members. Submit all Apprentice Program documentation timely. Operate in a field environment involving extended periods of climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in inclement weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 3 years of lineman experience.
- Valid Class A CDL
- Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships
- Precise hand-eye coordination
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Must be available for inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind
Desired Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience
- OSHA 10 Certification
