Job Summary
Deliver clean linen to designated hospital departments using covered carts and collect soiled linen for transport to collection areas. Verify deliveries, maintain accurate distribution and inventory records, and conduct regular inventory counts. Stock and organize linen rooms, monitor usage to report shortages or quality concerns, and respond promptly to staff requests. Operate laundry or linen-handling equipment as needed and complete basic clerical duties including data entry and documentation. Maintain clean, safe work areas while following all infection prevention procedures and Joint Commission standards. This role supports linen operations at Northside Cherokee Hospital within a fast-paced healthcare environment, requiring availability for 3rd shift (11 PM – 7:30 AM) with rotating weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be available to work 3rd shift, rotating weekends, and holidays
- Candidates must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Candidates must be able to frequently bend, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements
- Candidates must be able to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Candidates must be able to push and pull loaded linen carts weighing up to 400 pounds
- Candidates must be able to reach overhead and work at various heights when stocking linen
- Candidates must be able to safely perform repetitive physical tasks throughout an 8-hour shift
Desired Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, hospitality, or a similar environment
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Dependable and able to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn required systems
