Job Summary
Erect and dismantle scaffolding to provide safe work platforms for steel structure fabrication, fitting together steel pipe, support braces, and clamps. Lift and position scaffolding, bolts pipe, and places planks using various hand tools and lifting devices. Perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with operating procedures and ISO/QC standards. Requires 2+ years offshore scaffold building experience, valid TWIC card, and ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds. Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check. Gulf Island does not sponsor work visas; applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in offshore scaffold building
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Valid TWIC card
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds
- Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
- Turning, twisting, bending, and balancing
- Pushing, pulling and reaching
Desired Qualifications
- 8+ years experience in offshore scaffold building
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
