Job Summary
Conduct basic scheduled and preventative maintenance on offshore wind turbines, including component replacements, adjustments, and general turbine upkeep. Assist experienced technicians with assigned tasks while performing mechanical and electrical work using hand tools, power tools, and torque equipment. Adhere to safety protocols such as lockout/tagout, energy isolation, and procedures for working at heights and in confined spaces. Participate in offshore transfers between vessels and turbine structures, maintain tools and equipment, and complete all maintenance documentation and checklists. Engage in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses while reporting any safety concerns or quality issues immediately. Work effectively with technicians, supervisors, and vessel crews to support offshore service operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6+ months of experience in wind turbine service and maintenance
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and torque/tensioning equipment
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, technical procedures, and safety documentation
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability and willingness to work in an offshore environment and travel 100%
- Must be comfortable working aboard vessels and in offshore environments
- Must be able to safely transfer between vessels and offshore wind turbine structures
- Must be physically capable of climbing wind turbine towers and ladders while wearing required PPE and carrying necessary equipment
- Valid and current driving license with a satisfactory driving record
- Must be 21 years of age to be able to drive a company vehicle
- Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English
- Satisfactory criminal background check
