Job Summary

Conduct verbatim reporting of judicial proceedings at high rates of speed and prepare accurate transcripts while maintaining electronic backup storage. Keep all exhibits in possession until instructed by the Court and perform assigned administrative duties under the chief judge or managing reporter. Review completed work for accuracy and content in accordance with district judges and clerk of the court procedures. Requires Kansas Certified Court Reporter certification, high school diploma, and formal training in machine shorthand or voice writing.

Required Qualifications

  • Kansas Certified Court Reporter certification (or be eligible to obtain a temporary certificate) in compliance with applicable Kansas Supreme Court rules
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • formal training in machine shorthand or a voice writing program
