Job Summary

Conduct verbatim reporting of judicial proceedings at high rates of speed and prepare accurate transcripts as required. Maintain electronic backup storage of proceedings and keep all exhibits in possession until requested by the court. Perform administrative duties assigned by the chief judge or designee while adhering to procedures established by district judges and the chief clerk administrator. Submit completed work for review upon completion to ensure accuracy and content compliance. Requires a Kansas Certified Court Reporter certificate, formal training in machine shorthand or voice writing, and experience with computer equipment. Position located in Salina, Kansas, at grade 36 with an annual salary of $60,463.28.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience with using computer equipment
  • no fear of technology
  • Kansas Certified Court Reporter certificate (or are eligible to obtain a temporary certificate) in compliance with applicable Kansas Supreme Court rules
