Job Summary
Resilience Officer - Redi Communities supports communities to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies through the RediCommunities program. The role focuses on building local connections, facilitating workshops and discussions to support community resilience initiatives, and guiding communities through engagement, assessment, action implementation and evaluation with inclusive participation. Occasional intrastate travel with periods of overnight stays is required across multiple South Australian councils. The position emphasizes community development, collaboration with councils and emergency services, volunteer support, and accessibility to professional development and salary packaging benefits. Part-time role (22.8 hours/week) with salary packaging options and EAP, aligned to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated sound technical knowledge and expertise in community development practices
- Community-Centred Approach: Listens to and values local knowledge, fostering inclusive participation and empowering communities to lead their own resilience actions
- Sound discipline knowledge gained through experience, training or education in community development, emergency management, disaster resilience, or related fields
- Proven ability to engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including local councils, emergency services, community organisations, and residents
- Experience facilitating workshops, forums, or co-design sessions that support community-led planning and action
- Demonstrated experience working with and supporting volunteers, including fostering safe, inclusive participation
- Experience applying strengths-based and community-led approaches in diverse settings, including regional, rural, or remote communities
