Job Summary
Patrol position on school district property performing routine armed security duties. Demonstrates relationships with students, staff, and the community; instructs on crime prevention and security topics; trains staff on security procedures; conducts access control checks, monitors traffic and parking, and responds to security incidents. Prepares records/reports, participates in district security planning, and may engage with parents and community committees. Requires compliance with safety, background checks, and firearms qualifications; licenses/certifications in Florida security and related credentials; ability to work varied shifts; and physical fitness to perform duties.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in security or Law Enforcement
- Satisfactory completion of a recognized police academy, or satisfactory US military service, or certification as an ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) may substitute for the two years of experience
- Current Florida "D" and "G" Security license or eligibility to obtain these licenses prior to being hired
- Eligibility or requirement to obtain school guardian certificate by Hillsborough County Sheriff or qualify as a Law Enforcement Officer and be certified by the CJSTC
