Job Summary
Manage administrative and clerical support functions essential to the efficient operation of departmental services, including records management, customer service, financial processing, inmate accounting, property management, visitation coordination, and legal document processing. Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment while prioritizing tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Proficiency with computer systems, data entry, and standard office software applications is required. This role involves a broad range of office support functions within the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Applicants must pass an extensive background investigation and meet eligibility requirements for law enforcement support personnel.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible clerical, administrative, office support, or related experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of general office practices, record keeping, and administrative procedures
- Proficiency with computer systems, data entry, and standard office software applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, agencies, and the public
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and work independently in a deadline-driven environment
- Must successfully pass an extensive background investigation
- Must meet all eligibility requirements for law enforcement support personnel
- Pass the BCI Proficiency Test
- Obtain and maintain Notary Public certification
