Job Summary
Oversee daily front-office operations, manage the full medical billing cycle from charge entry to appeals, and verify insurance benefits and authorizations. Greet patients, handle scheduling and onboarding, collect payments, and manage financial conversations while entering data into the HSWorx EMR system. Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on aging claims, and maintain office organization and supplies. Serve as the go-to problem solver for staff and patients to ensure a warm, professional clinic experience. Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with Friday hours from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Assist with marketing events and community outreach to support the clinic's personalized patient experience.
Required Qualifications
- Prior medical billing experience (claim submission, EOBs, denials/appeals, and A/R follow-up)
- Familiarity with billing and coding basics such as CPT and ICD-10 codes and superbills
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable owning financial transactions, collections, and scheduling
- Proficient with EMR/practice-management software (we use HSWorx; training provided on our system)
Desired Qualifications
- Insurance experience with strong command of industry nomenclature and vocabulary (for example: verification of benefits, in-network vs. out-of-network, coinsurance, allowable amounts, clearinghouses, ERA/EOB, prior authorization, timely filing)
- Chiropractic or physical medicine billing experience (visit limits, therapy and modality billing, medical-necessity documentation)
- Prior supervisory or office-management experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Positive, professional, and team-oriented personality
