Job Summary
Interact with patients and families via phone, email, and in person while managing physician calendars, surgical case scheduling, and clinic appointments. Handle front-end payment collection, insurance authorizations, and patient check-outs, acting as the liaison between the office and hospital staff. Train and oversee junior staff within the physician office, proactively identifying operational enhancements. Maintain HIPAA compliance and utilize computer systems including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to relay information accurately.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-7 years physician office experience
- Attention to detail
- Ability to relay messages and information accurately
- Ability to derive practical solutions independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to escalate patient care issues appropriately
- Follow through with tasks to completion
- Adherence to patient privacy and HIPAA protection of data, information, as well as other HSS policies
- Strong computer and internet skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to learn new software tools & systems as required on the job
- Ability to effectively and accurately follow directions and/or instructions
- Superior written and oral communication skills
