Job Summary
Office Engineer on rail/transportation projects based in Los Angeles. Lead on-site administrative and technical support to the resident engineer; manage project documentation (submittals, RFIs, progress reports), coordinate contract administration, and maintain records to ensure smooth information flow for complex rail and transportation projects. Responsibilities include preparing and distributing meeting minutes and weekly progress reports, maintaining the Project Quantities Book, tracking contractor progress payments and contract drawings, supervising clerical staff in the field office, processing change orders and claims, supporting estimating and schedule analysis, coordinating submittals, inspection reports, RFIs, and technical document reviews; liaising between field inspection teams and contractor personnel. Requires strong detail orientation, organizational abilities, and effective communication and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience as an Office Engineer or in project documentation on infrastructure projects.
- Rail or transit experience required.
- Strong working knowledge of contract documentation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay estimates.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, MS Excel, and other document management platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
