Job Summary

Log samples into the Lab Management Information System (LIMS) and assign testing using client-supplied forms. Process and maintain records for internal and external billing while performing general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing. Support lab associates by organizing and preparing samples for processing, handling special projects, and maintaining a clean, sanitized work environment. Adhere to all safety policies and cleaning schedules to ensure samples are retained properly. This entry-level position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Fluency in English and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel are essential. Candidates must live within 30 miles of the Madison, WI lab location.

Required Qualifications

  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Must be comfortable with working the listed schedule for this position
  • Must live within 30 miles of the lab - no relocation packages available
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
  • Must have excellent quality of work and attention to detail
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and internal/external clients
  • Must be able to learn new tasks quickly and to move easily from task to task
  • Must be able to handle prioritization and multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to use a personal computer and learn necessary programs
  • Must be able to perform work accurately, reliably, thoroughly, timely, and within safety guidelines
  • Must be a well-organized and self-directed individual focused on achieving organizational goals and initiatives
  • Excellent customer service skills and follow-up with a sense of urgency
  • Strong Microsoft Office applications experience including WORD, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Attention to detail and data entry accuracy
