Job Summary
Screen WIC applicants for benefits eligibility using NYS criteria for category, residency, and income. Provide support for scheduling and program explanation while serving as the first point of contact via telephone or in person. Foster an exceptional participant-centered environment under the guidance of the WIC Office Supervisor, ensuring full compliance with Federal and State Regulations. Maintain adherence to In-House policy and contribute to improved clinical outcomes. Handle difficult situations effectively while multitasking under pressure, utilizing proficient arithmetic, writing, and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A combination of experience and training sufficient to indicate ability to do the work
- Proficient arithmetic skills
- Writing/communication skills
- Interviewing skills
- Ability to work well under pressure situations
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to be effective in handling difficult situations
- Familiarity with keyboard and typing 25 wpm
Desired Qualifications
- One year of accounting experience
- Computer and business school training
- Bilingual language skills in Spanish, Arabic, Burmese, Karen, Nepali, or Somali
