Job Summary
Office Assistant in an ambulatory surgical setting handling patient check-in/out, scheduling, and medical records with responsibilities that include registering patients in the practice management system, coordinating referrals and insurance verifications, performing scanning/abstracting duties, obtaining patient records, answering calls, scheduling appointments, and contributing to daily operations; emphasizes customer service in all patient interactions and collaboration with staff and physicians.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- clerical/billing experience in a medical office (1 year preferred)
- Customer Service experience preferred
- If serving as a bilingual/multilingual interpreter, certification in Medical Interpretation is required to perform duties as a qualified interpreter
