Job Summary
Office Assistant/Patient Navigator at Shenandoah Community Health to greet patients in the waiting area, direct them to appropriate check-in lines, manage Express Check In’s, schedule patient transportation, collect co-pays, and maintain organized patient records in the EHR using Medical Manager and Athena. The role requires high school diploma or equivalent (some related coursework preferred), data-entry proficiency, strong communication, and customer-service skills; bilingual ability is a plus. Evening coverage is required and duties include coordinating patient flow, managing waitlists, and ensuring confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in related field preferred
- Bilingual a plus
- Experience in medical office setting preferred
- Experience performing reception duties preferred
- Excellent data entry and computer skills; familiarity with Medical Manager, Athena
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Prior experience scheduling patients and dealing with medical records preferred
