Job Summary
Office Assistant role performing routine to moderately difficult clerical duties in the Maternal Child Health program. Responsibilities include recording and posting information, verifying data, preparing forms and notices, creating and handling vouchers and memos, generating reports, processing payments, data entry across multiple databases, filing, distributing documents, answering inquiries via phone and email, and operating standard office equipment. Requires strong organizational skills, basic mathematical ability, confidentiality, customer service mindset, and the ability to learn and adapt to policies. Must have a High School diploma or GED and a valid Michigan driver's license with vehicle for authorized travel; previous clerical experience preferred. The position operates in a county government setting with non-exempt status and probationary period under the AFSCME bargaining unit; potential grant/externally funded continuity considerations. Proficiency in English (a second language is a plus) and ability to work with diverse populations are valued.
