Job Summary
Greet and register incoming patients, process registration forms, and collect insurance and payment information while running eligibility verifications. Manage the front desk by answering telephones, directing calls, retrieving messages, and scheduling appointments per provider protocol. Maintain patient records by forwarding requests to HIM, monitoring reminder systems for cancellations, obtaining prior authorizations, and practicing sterile techniques for specimen collection. Keep the office organized, manage clerical supplies and logs, and adhere to HIPAA confidentiality rules. Travel to other IPG offices to cover the front desk when requested.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Clear understanding of confidentiality laws that govern the patient/physician relationship
- Ability to uphold ICARE core values with every patient, every time
- Ability to exhibit strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with staff members, patients, physicians and management
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

- Ability to maintain professional appearance by adhering to dress code policy
- Ability to travel to other IPG offices when needed to cover front office when requested
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of medical office or customer service experience
- Completion of a recognized medical secretarial program
- Knowledge of medical practice
- Knowledge of clerical equipment
- Knowledge of operations and processes
- Basic understanding of medical terms and abbreviations
- Usage of computer systems
- Knowledge of various medical forms, reports and processing methods
