Job Summary
Office Assistant for the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas reports to the Court Administrator and Child Support Director. Provides administrative support to the Tribal District Court and Child Support Enforcement offices, serves as first point of contact for the public, handles front desk duties, assists with intake, payment processing, mail handling, scheduling, and maintains organized office systems while upholding confidentiality and policies. Responsibilities include greeting the public, answering calls, assisting with forms, logging mail and payments, notarizing documents, processing outgoing mail, scheduling calendars, filing and record-keeping, maintaining supplies, and supporting staff. Requires Notary Public (or ability to obtain within 3 months), valid driver’s license, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Travel training may be required; strong customer service and communication skills are essential; confidential information handling and adherence to tribal policies are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Notary Public or able to obtain Notary certification within three (3) months of hire
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow established procedures and work under general supervision
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining organized and productive during both busy and slow periods
- Ability to maintain organized and accurate records
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with court personnel, child support staff, and the public
- Must be able to attend in-state and out-of-state training as required
