Job Summary
Office Assistant at the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) within Associated Students, San Francisco State University. Reports to the Center Director and Office Manager. Responsibilities include front desk reception, answering phones, guiding new clients through services and applications, managing enrollment records and sign-in/out logs, maintaining files, inventory and purchasing with vendors, assisting in locating substitute teachers, data entry using Microsoft and Google Suite, calendar maintenance, and supporting Directors and Head Teacher with various tasks. Requires organization, multi-tasking, initiative, and strong oral/written communication; ability to interact with children and parents across ages; ability to work in a high-stress environment. Part-time role up to 20 hours/week; wage $23.50/hour; schedule to be determined; must be a student at San Francisco State University.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Student at San Francisco State University
- Must be organized, able to prioritize, multi-task and take initiative in a busy, central workstation
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to remember the names of and interact with children and parents of a wide variety of ages
- Must be able to work effectively in high-stress situations.
- Knowledge of basic Microsoft Word and Excel XP preferred but not necessary
