Job Summary
Office Assistant position at the San Francisco State University Associated Students’ Early Childhood Education Center. Reports to the Office Manager and Center Director; up to 20 hours/week. Responsibilities include front desk/reception duties, monitoring entry/exit, maintaining enrollment and sign-in/out records, identifying visitors, sanitizing entry points, clerical tasks (data entry, filing, copying, laminating, mailing), assisting with client outreach, managing calendars, preparing check requisitions, assisting substitutes, inventory and ordering supplies, and supporting center staff with opening/closing procedures. Requires basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel XP, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to multitask, and ability to work well under pressure in a campus-based childcare setting. Salary is $23.50 per hour. Must be a current SF State student. Application via portal; resume required; cover letter optional.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Student at San Francisco State University
- Knowledge of basic Microsoft Word and Excel XP preferred but not necessary
- Must be organized, able to prioritize, multi-task and take initiative in a busy, central workstation
- Must be able to take directions and execute them
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to remember the names of and interact with children and parents of a wide variety of ages
- Must be able to work effectively in high-stress situations.
