Job Summary
Off-Track Railroad Vegetation Applicators mix and load spray trucks with water and approved chemicals; apply herbicides to off-track railroad rights-of-way using hose-reel systems; perform vegetation management including weed eating and chainsaw work; pull and manage long spray hoses; safely drive and operate spray trucks between job sites; participate in daily briefings and complete end-of-day paperwork; follow railroad safety and environmental regulations; travel 4–6 weeks at a time with provided hotel accommodations and per diem; paid training in vegetation identification, chemical usage, safety procedures, and equipment operation/maintenance; compensation $18-20/hour with full benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, and licensing opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 5 years of clean driving history
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- DOT physical and federal background check required for railroad property access
