Job Summary
Prepare detailed annual operating budgets, collect rent, and monitor the physical and fiscal performance of assigned commercial and residential properties. Manage key tenant lease obligations, oversee capital expenditures, and develop vendor relationships to maximize property attributes and ancillary income. Generate monthly expense variance reports and proactively address uncollectible balances to ensure a healthy balance sheet. Travel daily to local properties and occasionally to campus locations to oversee maintenance and execute the University's strategic plan. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of property management experience, and a valid driver's license. Full-time onsite role in Lynchburg, Va., with a salary range of $65,000 to $90,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum of five (5) years of documented driving history
- Clean driving record
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English
- Public communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong working knowledge of Yardi or other property management software
- Experience in project management, tenant coordination and mitigating risk on property level
- Knowledge of leasing, contracts, and industry-related terminology
- Intermediate level proficiency with current Microsoft Office software (specifically Excel), email and internet research functionality
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature
- Quantitative and analytical skills
- Ability to lift 10 or fewer pounds
- Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles)
- Proof of a valid driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance
