Job Summary
Provide senior-level legal counsel and strategic guidance on complex construction law, lien, and contract matters while handling a select caseload of high-value or high-complexity cases. Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations as needed, and draft or review contracts, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. Mentor associates and paralegals on construction law issues and support business development by cultivating relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in the California construction industry. Maintain current knowledge of California construction and lien law developments while managing flexibility for other professional commitments.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the State of California, in good standing
- Significant experience in construction law, litigation, or a closely related practice area (typically 10+ years)
- Established professional reputation and network within the legal and/or construction community
- Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload with minimal day-to-day supervision
