OES Special Education Paraprofessional

Reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced by certified staff and assist in devising special strategies based on individual student needs. Monitor work, correct papers, and supervise curriculum-based testing and makeup work as assigned. Properly supervise students at all times, including lunchroom, recess, and bus duty, while maintaining a safe working environment. Serve as the chief resource for guest teachers and the IEP Team, alerting certified staff to any student problems. Perform clerical, classroom maintenance, and instructional duties, adhere to all deadlines and legal requirements, and participate in approved in-service training programs. Follow the schedule developed by the building principal and classroom teacher to meet assigned obligations.
