Job Summary
Oversee construction site safety activities across multiple active projects operating under an OCIP program by traveling between assigned locations to conduct routine inspections, audits, and compliance reviews. Monitor adherence to OSHA regulations, OCIP requirements, and project-specific standards while identifying hazards and partnering with contractors to implement corrective actions. Perform daily safety reviews of work in progress, prepare comprehensive safety reports, and investigate incidents, near misses, and recordable injuries to drive prevention efforts. Support OSHA inspections, verify safety training completion, lead stand-downs, and promote continuous improvement through coaching and risk management initiatives. Requires 5+ years of heavy construction safety experience, CHST certification, and ability to travel regularly.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of heavy construction safety experience
- Certified Hazardous Materials Safety Technician (CHST) certification
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and regulatory compliance
- Experience supporting or managing Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP)
- Ability to travel regularly between active construction project sites
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with contractors, project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Ability to manage multiple active construction projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting documentation
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field
- Additional professional safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, or related designations
