Ocean & Road Freight Controller

Job Summary
Manage ocean and road freight shipments by receiving handovers from the Pricing team or clients, acquiring shipment numbers in Cargo wise, and coordinating inspections with authorities such as SGS or Intertek. Process declarations, obtain Customs Officer Certificates, and follow up with suppliers and agents to arrange collections and book shipments. Confirm insurance charges, share pre-alerts with consignees, and track manifest movements to ensure timely delivery. Coordinate with field operations officers for verification and release, close files after checking quotes and invoices, and share billing documents with clients. Provide daily updates on shipment progress via email, phone, and WhatsApp while responding to customer enquiries and escalating issues as needed. Ensure profitability by maintaining minimal operations costs and adhering to strict delivery schedules.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years working experience in a similar role
- Diploma in Supply Chain & Logistics/ Maritime studies/ Clearing & Forwarding or any other related field
- Certificate in customs procedures for freight logistics and management
- Experience with Cargo wise / Transport Management system
- Experience and knowledge of customer service operations in a clearing and forwarding company
