Job Summary
Manage import and export shipments by receiving bookings from customers, agents, and overseas offices, then raising files within the Rhenus software system. Prepare customs clearance and shipping instructions while liaising with carriers, monitoring vessel schedules, and ensuring all documentation is correctly presented. Process customs clearances including Duty and VAT requirements, raise invoices, and resolve shipment discrepancies. Maintain customer spreadsheets, cost files, and shipment records to ensure accurate revenue allocation and compliance with company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Ocean Import and/or Ocean Export freight forwarding operations
- Knowledge of both LCL and FCL shipment processes
- Experience of customs procedures, including Duty and VAT processes
- Good understanding of the freight forwarding and logistics industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using freight forwarding software systems
- A-Level qualifications
- Relevant freight forwarding, logistics or customs qualifications
