Job Summary
Ocean Marine Underwriter responsible for underwriting marine liabilities, hull & machinery, and cargo, with a collaborative, customer-first mindset. You’ll work with other underwriters and leaders to shape coverage and decisions, using data and critical thinking to support recommendations. The role offers growth into technical or leadership paths and features a hybrid work arrangement in Seattle, WA (office three days a week: Tuesday–Thursday). The position emphasizes relationship-building with internal and external partners, analytical problem-solving, clear communication, and delivering outcomes in a dynamic insurance environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
- 3+ years of P&C insurance underwriting or marketing experience
- Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external partners
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to think analytically about business problems and propose solutions
- High energy self-starter with resilience and entrepreneurial spirit
- Solid time, organizational, and desk management skills
