Job Summary
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you'll assist patients in regaining daily living skills in home and clinical settings under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Key responsibilities include instructing self-care skills, administering prescribed treatments, supervising the use of assistive devices, assessing patients' progress, and participating in discharge planning. Essential qualifications include a degree from an accredited program, licensure, CPR certification, and effective communication skills. The job may involve physical demands and exposure to communicable diseases in various settings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a 2-year college level program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Hold and maintain OTA Illinois Licensure
- CPR certification
- Ability to pass specific competencies for this position
- Maintains required and approved CEU to maintain licensure.
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year in-patient therapy setting experience preferred.
- Proficient oral and written communication
- Ability to work well with a diverse work team.
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
