Job Summary
Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in evaluating patients' functional abilities and implementing treatment plans to improve self-care skills and activities of daily living. Educate patients and families on adaptive equipment, home modifications, and condition management strategies while accurately documenting progress in electronic medical records. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians and nurses to ensure coordinated rehabilitation for complex cases involving stroke, spinal cord injuries, and neurological disorders. Maintain a safe environment by staying current with continuing education and prioritizing tasks within a fast-paced inpatient setting.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state where currently practicing.
- Current BLS required via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required).
- Associate degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
- Speaks and communicates English effectively in verbal and written format; writes legibly.
- Proficient in documentation and medical record keeping.
- Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in rehabilitation medicine.
- Functions proficiently in a Microsoft Windows environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of Inpatient Rehabilitation experience (preferred).
