Job Summary
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides hands-on, goal-driven interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help patients restore function, independence, and confidence in daily living. Responsibilities include implementing individualized treatment programs to improve physical, psychosocial, and developmental function; may modify approaches within the plan of care; assist with adaptive equipment and splinting to promote independence; educate patients, families, and caregivers on home programs and preventive care; complete timely clinical documentation; communicate with patients, families, physicians, and the care team; follow policies on safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance; participate in ongoing education and contribute to special projects. Qualifications include 2–3 years of college coursework, an associate degree or diploma in OTA, and a current COTA license; less than one year of OT experience is preferred. The role is full-time and located at Plains Regional Medical Center in the United States.
