Job Summary
Assist with assessments and treatment plans for children ages birth to 18 years with varying disabilities while providing direct one-on-one treatment under top-notch supervision and mentorship. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, and deliver parent education and training. Perform physical activities such as crawling, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with sudden movements and sustained activity for up to 60 minutes. Maintain safety of clients and surroundings, ensuring reliable transportation and valid driver's license. Requires NBCOT certification, California state licensure, and previous pediatric treatment experience.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
- Graduated from an accredited OTA program
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Certification through National Board of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- State licensure through California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT)
- Previous pediatric treatment experience
- Reliable car
- Proof of auto insurance
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of immunization records
- TB test required
- Ability to play on the floor or settings where furniture is child size
- Careful attention to the safety of the client and surroundings
- Ability to make sudden and quick movements
- Walking, occasional running, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching above head, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Sustained physical activity for up to 60 minutes
