Job Summary
Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) needed for school-based therapy during the 2026–2027 school year. Responsibilities include supporting IEP goals under supervision of a licensed OT, delivering direct and consultative OT services to students in school settings, helping develop fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills for school participation, collaborating with teachers and staff to integrate therapy into the classroom, collecting data and documenting progress toward IEP goals, preparing materials aligned with therapeutic goals, participating in IEP meetings, promoting independence in the educational environment, and ensuring services comply with district/state/federal regulations. Requires an Associate’s degree and an active COTA license; pediatric/school-based experience preferred. The role may be full-time, part-time, on-site, hybrid, or remote depending on state/district requirements, with benefits and opportunities for salaried or prorated pay depending on start date.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state where services will be provided
- Knowledge of school-based OT practices, IEPs, and special education services
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with OTs, educators, families, and other team members
- Ability to follow treatment plans and adapt activities based on student response and progress
- Pediatric or school-based setting experience preferred
