Job Summary
Deliver age-appropriate therapeutic interventions using play-based techniques, sensory activities, and exercises to improve fine and gross motor skills, daily living activities, and social participation. Regularly assess and document patient progress, modifying treatment plans as needed to meet the child's developmental goals. Provide guidance, resources, and training to parents and caregivers on techniques to support therapy goals at home, including exercises, adaptive strategies, and behavior management. Work closely with speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care for each child. Address sensory processing disorders through structured activities aimed at improving a child's ability to process and respond to sensory information. Prepare children for school by working on fine motor skills, self-care tasks, and social skills necessary for classroom participation. Evaluate and recommend adaptive equipment, tools, and environmental modifications to enhance a child's independence and participation in daily activities. Complete accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports, ensuring compliance with clinic policies and relevant regulations. Engage in continuous learning opportunities, staying updated on the latest pediatric OT practices, research, and techniques. Assist in organizing workshops, educational sessions, and support groups for families and community partners to promote awareness of pediatric occupational therapy services.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited university and occupational therapy assistant program
- Currently enrolled in accredited programs
