Job Summary
Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans for pediatric clients under the direction of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, ensuring peer review demonstrates acceptable clinical quality. Provide education and support to families to promote carryover of therapeutic strategies while documenting progress notes, billing information, and equipment justifications within required policy timeframes. Manage an assigned caseload through regular collaboration with the supervising OT and facilitate coordinated care via communication with parents, guardians, and the clinical team. Achieve established productivity goals and treatment objectives within defined timetables while maintaining organized patient files and completing related administrative tasks. Utilize electronic systems including EMR, Office 365, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams proficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program
- Current and active State of Florida COTA license
- Ability to meet approved driver qualifications (minimum age 21 with a good driving record) for occasional business use of a personal vehicle
- Medicaid and NPI numbers
- Previous pediatric therapy experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively engage children, families, and team members
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional growth and self-development
- Positive attitude toward individuals with disabilities and alignment with the Easterseals mission and work environment
- Willingness to be flexible and adapt to program needs
- Demonstrates integrity, tact, and sound professional judgment
