Job Summary
Urgent Occupational Therapy role within the Urgent Response Team: perform urgent OT assessments across the London Borough of Barnet, including moving and handling risk assessments, equipment recommendations, safeguarding-related work, and collaboration with health, social care and community partners. Role involves a weekly Duty OT rota and hybrid working with 1–2 days in the office, driving preferred, and a focus on rapid intervention to prevent hospital admissions and support safe community living. Requires HCPC registration, a degree in Occupational Therapy, extensive moving and handling experience, autonomy, strong communication and report-writing, and experience in community/adult social care or hospital discharge. Compensation includes £36 per hour with hybrid working and referral bonuses.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration
- Extensive experience in moving and handling assessments
- Strong knowledge of equipment provision and risk management
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a demanding caseload
- Experience within community, adult social care, urgent response, or hospital discharge services
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- A proactive and positive approach to teamwork
- A car driver is preferred due to the borough-wide nature of the role
