Job Summary
Treat injured, ill, or disabled residents through the therapeutic use of everyday activities to help them develop and recover daily living skills. Evaluate patients within one business day of referral and design patient-specific programs including ADL re-training, functional mobility, and neuromuscular re-education. Administer treatments, supervise COTA staff, and maintain accurate daily records of billing and charting. Communicate with referring physicians and the rehabilitation team regarding the total treatment program. Comply with facility policies, report abuse allegations immediately, and provide in-service education to staff and community members. Work beyond normal hours and weekends as necessary, using transfer equipment when assisting residents with lifting.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet recognized standards of the professional education and qualifications
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
- Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the Facility
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
