Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract

Job Summary
Provide patient-centered home health OT services in Hiawatha, IA. The OT will evaluate occupational performance across self-care, work, leisure, and rest; develop and implement individualized plans of care; teach adaptive techniques and equipment use; fabricate basic adaptive devices and splints; and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to document progress and support safe, functional independence. Responsibilities include applying therapeutic interventions to improve ROM, strength, coordination, functional mobility, and safety, and ensuring infection control and payer-compliant documentation. Must have an OT degree (BS, MS, or doctoral), current state OT license, CPR certification, valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, and at least two years of OT experience in acute care or rehabilitation. The role requires travel between patient homes, a flexible schedule, and a dayshift with 5x8 hours. Benefits include travel/license reimbursement and 401k options.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program with a Bachelor of Science, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current state license as an Occupational Therapist required prior to the start of assignment
- Current CPR certification required
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance required
- Minimum two years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in an acute care or rehabilitation setting required
- Ability to perform physical job requirements including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to travel locally and work a flexible schedule as required by home health visits
