Job Summary
Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract in Oregon, MO seeking a dedicated OT to deliver rehabilitation in a skilled nursing facility. Provide OT interventions to help patients regain or improve daily living skills post-injury, illness, or disability. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document according to regulatory and clinical standards, supervise OT assistants and students, and ensure compliance with NBCOT/state practice acts and ethics. Responsibilities include standardized assessments, ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, use of assistive devices, accurate clinical documentation, and contributing to discharge planning. Travel assignment with housing and travel/licensing support available; 8-hour days with no weekend requirement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor‘s, Master‘s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program
- Active Occupational Therapist state license required to start the assignment
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
- Experience in long term care (LTC) or rehabilitation required
- Documentation: current resume and skills checklist within the past year required at time of submission
- Ability to perform standardized assessments, ADL retraining, therapeutic activities and exercises, and utilize assistive devices per regulatory and clinical requirements
- Ability to accurately document treatment minutes and clinical records in an electronic documentation system
- Ability to supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and students as needed
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required
- New graduates considered only with completed Level II experience rather than solely Level I observation experience (Preferred)
- Experience working in skilled nursing facility settings preferred
- Familiarity with cognitive and ADL-focused interventions preferred
- Must be able to obtain necessary DME and supplies per clinical practice requirements
- May be required to participate in facility meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings
