Job Summary
Occupational Therapist provides services to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes in an inpatient mental health setting, collaborating within an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include conducting assessments and delivering therapy for conditions such as Schizophrenia Spectrum, Bipolar, Depressive and Anxiety Disorders; applying modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy; contributing to risk management and quality improvement; ensuring patient- and family-centered care; and maintaining professional standards per COTO, CAOT, and OSOT guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Masters and/or Baccalaureate degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized University
- Membership in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT) encouraged
- Minimum of three years’ experience providing direct clinical services within inpatient/outpatient mental health interdisciplinary service
- Current BCLS Certificate
- Proof of malpractice insurance as required by COTO
- Valid class G Driver’s License and MOT Driver’s Abstract
- Current Assistive Devices Program (ADP) authorizer preferred
Desired Qualifications
