Job Summary
Occupational Therapist in a temporary full-time inpatient mental health setting provides OT services to enable patients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes, works independently and with an interdisciplinary team, participates in hospital-wide activities, and adheres to professional standards and ethics per COTO. Responsibilities include assessment and treatment planning for patients in inpatient mental health, collaboration with the team, implementation of OT modalities, and contributing to quality improvement and risk management.
Required Qualifications
- Masters and/or Baccalaureate degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized University
- Membership in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) (and CAOT/OSOT encouraged)
- Minimum of three years’ experience providing direct clinical services within inpatient and/or outpatient mental health interdisciplinary service
- Experience with schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders, bipolar, depressive, and anxiety disorders; experience with CBT, motivational interviewing, and DBT
- Current BCLS Certificate
- Proof of malpractice insurance as required by COTO
- Valid class G Driver’s License and MOT Driver’s Abstract
- ADP authorizer preferred
