Job Summary
Independent-contractor Occupational Therapist role in Pickering, ON, delivering ministry-funded community OT services in clients’ homes and via virtual care. Responsibilities include home safety assessments, home modifications, equipment prescription, fall prevention, mobility/physical functioning, cognition, stroke rehabilitation, and chronic conditions; develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans with clients and caregivers; supervise OT assistants as appropriate; educate clients/caregivers; complete funding applications; maintain comprehensive documentation (assessment findings, care plans, progress/discharge summaries) aligned with referral sources and COTO standards. Requires ability to work with diverse clients, strong clinical reasoning, autonomy in a community-based setting, and access to a reliable vehicle for travel. Required Qualifications
- Registered Occupational Therapist in Ontario
- Proficiency with MS Office and clinical software
- Valid G or G2 driver’s license with access to vehicle
- Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Ability to work independently in community-based model
