Job Summary
Provide evaluation and educationally relevant therapy to students in school-based therapy. Attend student staffing and IEP meetings to discuss pertinent information collected throughout the assessment process. Implement annual and short-term goals for each student on their caseload as part of the IEP process according to district policies. Write treatment programs for individual students as needed and supervise COTA’s, CPTA’s and paraeducators as assigned. Maintain confidentiality following FERPA and district policies. Ability to work an 8 hour duty day in assigned locations. The district emphasizes FERPA compliance, collaboration with families and staff, and a strong therapeutic program integrated into school settings. Requires certification by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts and demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and professionals. Terms of employment include 186 days; salary schedule is certified-based. This role involves evaluation, treatment planning, progress reporting, and supervision of therapy staff and students across multiple schools in the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools district.
Required Qualifications
- Meets the employment qualifications set forth by the Kansas City, Kansas Board of Education and the Kansas State Department of Education.
- Holds or is eligible for certification by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
